Rapid Response Mobile Home Infill Program (MHIP)

Mobile Home Infill Program (MHIP)

As part of a comprehensive response to Vermont’s housing affordability crisis, compounded by recent flooding, the Rapid Response Mobile Home Infill Program (MHIP) was created to jumpstart and fast-track Mobile Home lot improvement and home placement within participating Mobile Home Parks to foster affordable homeownership.

The program provides homeownership opportunities to income eligible Vermonters in counties around the state. Currently listed new homes in the Northeast Kingdom are being offered between $89,831 and $104,761.

Potential buyers may also apply for Champlain Housing Trust’s Manufactured Housing Down Payment Loan which is designed to be a “silent second” to a first mortgage. The loans are offered at 0.00% interest, and all payments are deferred until the property is sold, transferred, or refinanced. The loans are assumable, which will allow the next buyer of the home to take advantage of this loan if they meet the program qualifications.
