RuralEdge and Central Vermont Habitat for Humanity (CVHFH) are working together to help low-income households become homeowners. CVHFH builds new homes with the selected homeowners' involvement. Buyers must qualify for the Habitat for Humanity program and the RuralEdge Shared Equity Program to ensure long-term affordability and stability.

Are you in need of better housing?
Habitat for Humanity builds homes for those living in subsidized housing or substandard housing. This includes those facing unsafe living conditions, paying unaffordable rent, or experiencing overcrowded spaces.
To Qualify You Must:
- Be deemed within Central Vermont Habitat for Humanity’s income limits. These limits are based on up to 80% Area Median Income (AMI).
- Complete & Submit RuralEdge’s Shared Equity application.
- Earn your Homebuyer Education Certificate by participating in RuralEdge’s Homebuyer Education Course.
- Live or work in Orleans County, Vermont for one year before applying.
- Be willing to volunteer 250 hours (loved ones may provide up to 50% of the service time) with Habitat for Humanity.
- Be able to show $500 in a bank account for closing costs.
Central Vermont Habitat for Humanity is seeking applicants for two new homes they are building in Greensboro Bend, VT.
